I’ll be speaking at PodCamp Montréal

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

PodCamp Montréal will be taking place this weekend and I’ll be giving a session on connecting with your podcast audience beyond blog comments and listener submitted audio.

New social media tools have come into existence and ubiquity since podcasting first began way, way back in 2004 blessing us producers with more effective ways of developing relationships and forming friendships with our audience and peers. I’ll be using my podcast, Stuttering is Cool, to illustrate this and its importance in the self-help movement.

Below is the first slide in my presentation. Veteran readers will remember that this looks like the slides from the presentation I gave at PodCamp London (video). That’s because it’s an updated version with some additional info. The tech world changes so fast.

PodCamp Montreal

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

I just got back from yet another trip to one of my most favourite cities, Montréal. I was there for PodCamp Montréal and as expected, I had a blast, met new cool people and learned many new things.

I won’t go into detail of what was said. There are plenty of other blog posts that will do a better job than I will :) Instead, I’ll say that this time, I did things a little differently. For one, I didn’t bring my computer. I recently bought an iPhone and wanted to see how it performed as a ‘little computer’ for my needs (blogging, uploading photos to flickr, etc).

I’m going to do a series of blog posts over the next few days. There is just too much I want to write about. The iPhone test will be my 1st post. I’ll also talk about the amazing conversation during the road trip, Twitter love on a whole new level, the interviews I’ve done, my observations of a bilingual conference, and what I’ve decided to do for future conferences.
