In a nutshell, I don’t have the time to relearn or get used to a whole new way of using my iPhone and iPad. I’m in the final stretches of completing my book and I don’t need yet another digital distraction.

If only Apple had consulted me first.

Ok, but seriously, it has been over a week since iOS 7 has been released and I’m already beginning to feel how outdated my current iOS 6.1.4 is and I’m itching to upgrade. yet at the same time, I really don’t need to. Is this a new form of marketing persuasion/brainwashing?

The screen on my iPhone and iPad is a mix of 2D and 3D icons. While I like depth of field any day, this got annoying quickly. Even more irritating were my apps changing their interfaces all at once.

If only they had consulted with me first.

I’m safely assuming the same thing happens on the Android platform. After all, it’s all about business. Ad business these days seems to be all about changing as quickly as possible to outdo the competition. I’m all for an improved experience and an improvement in my devices and tools but I wish they wouldn’t happen so fast.

My iPad 2 is only two years old and already I can sense how obsolete it will become next year. My MacBook Pro was purchased in 2010 and it can’t have any of the useful features like AirDrop which iOS 7 provides.

I used to love technology. Now it’s just a high maintenance girlfriend.
